As digital strategy has become a core part of every publishing business, it’s important for publishers to keep up to date with emerging technologies, new industry initiatives and changes in user behaviour.
ALPSP (the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers) is one organisation that offers a great programme of CPD and learning events for publishers who want to get to grips with digital, and Publishing Technology will be presenting at its Digital Strategy Seminar in London on 9th February.
At this event, Louise Russell, COO of Online Solutions, together with Richard Ridge, User Experience Architect (both of whom you’ll recognise from this blog), will look into the creation and evolution of a digital strategy within the academic publishing space. They will cover the “why”, the “how” and best practice, current technology trends (and which ones you should be worrying about), the importance of knowing your audience along with case studies from STM and Social Sciences fields.
Richard will also, along with GSE’s CEO, John Peters, explore new innovations in online strategy within the academic market; including experimenting with new models for platform design to enhance the online experience and changing the game within the scholarly research community from GSE as they embark on launching an open peer review model alongside the traditional peer review system.
The Digital Strategy seminar is a full day event on Thursday 9th February, taking place at Portland Place in Central London. You can find out more about the event and sign up to attend here. We look forward to seeing you there.
